5/27 Barracudas Weekly

Hey Barracudas,

Welcome to summer and to the first day of morning practices! We're a day late due to the holiday weekend and we hope you all had a great Memorial Day!  Believe it or not, we’re more than halfway through the season and we had a fabulously Fun Friday with Danny’s Ice Cream Truck last week to celebrate! We also hosted another great meet on Saturday.

Meet Entries are now open for the remainder of the season. You know the drill, get them in by Thursday noon before the meet (Champs will be the Wednesday before). If you are not attending, please be sure to mark your swimmer(s) as “Not Attending” in bcwbarracudas.com or SwimTopia mobile app. Meet information is on the Swim Meets & Events calendar @ www.bcwbarracudas.com/swim_meets

The season finale is almost here!!! Austin Hills Swim League Champs meet is coming up on June 14 @ Round Rock ISD Natatorium! All swimmers in the league that have participated in 2 regular meets (not intrasquad) and have a valid time (this doesn’t have to be an all star qualifying time, just a legal time not a DQ) in an event are invited! Now is the time to dive in! More information available on our champs webpage. Volunteer jobs for the champs meet are also open.

To be very clear on the champs qualifications, both of the following must be met -

  1. Meet Participation: The swimmer must have participated (splashed) in at least two regular season swim meets. It does not matter how they swam—whether they were disqualified (DQ’d) or won their races—as long as they participated.Note: There are only TWO meets remaining. Any swimmer who has not yet participated in a regular dual/tri meet (no intrasquads) must attend both of the final two remaining meets to meet this requirement.
  2. Valid Time in Each Entered Event: The swimmer must have a valid time (no NT or DQ) in each individual event they plan to swim at Champs. A valid time only needs to have been achieved once during the season. We have run medal meets this way for years.

All Star Ribbons - are being distributed starting this week! Who is an AHSL All Star? The league came up with a set of time standards to indicate roughly the top 20% of the league! These times are marked with AS25 on the Results sheet. Congratulations!

Lost and found is OVERFLOWING, rain “washed” and drying on the fence. Please have a look for your missing towels, shirts, etc. Will post pics on facebook.

End of Season Party is coming up on Wednesday, June 18th! We’ll have waterslides, food, treats, fun relay races and more! Say farewell to a fun season and enjoy some pool time with your fellow Barracudas families! We’ll have envelopes for each swimmer with their remaining ribbons, medals from Champs meet, participation medal, and memory mate photo. If you’re not able to attend the party, please ask a friend to pick up your swimmer’s envelope for you.

Volunteers - Check your point status and scheduled jobs in your my account section of the Barracuda webpage (click on your name at the top right and select my account). We just opened up champs jobs and will have party shifts open soon too.

3 weeks left! Let’s finish strong! Chomp Chomp Chomp!
