Welcome
Welcome to the Swim Team Registration page for the Barton Creek West Barracudas Swim Team. If you are returning from a previous season or brand new to the Barracudas, we are glad you have chosen our program.
We are a completely VOLUNTEER run organization! We need your help to keep our team going strong!
2023 Information
What's New?
- Swimsuit - New suits in the 2023 season! See the swimsuit page!
- Volunteering During Registration - We are requiring two (2) and only two volunteer job selections during registration. The rest of the job spots will be opening through the season. We are trying this hybrid approach to make registration easier. We will still need to identify leads and certified roles such as stroke judges & starters early as those jobs require league training.
- SeekingVolunteer leads and co-leads for various roles including Age Group Parents lead/co-lead, Concessions co-lead, Merchandise/T-shirts co-lead, Ready Bench co-lead, Ribbons co-lead, Starter/Announcer (30min training class), Timer lead/co-lead, Fun Event/Fun Friday lead/co-lead.If these are roles that you have done in the past, feel comfortable doing and would be interested in a leadership role, please email us at [email protected] so we can give you more details. Ok, this is the same as every year :)
- Card on File for All Star Meet entries - SwimTopia will hold an authorization to pay for meet entries for the all star invitations, to be used for those that are attending.
- Tri-Meets - The Lakeway Lakers didn't form a team this year, so there are 9 teams in the league now. We've scheduled two tri meets with the smaller teams, and you can find the details on the schedule page.
What's the same?
- We have our "Get Your Gear" event on Saturday 15-April from 1-3pm at the BCW Big Pool. SwimFreak will be on site for your swimmer to try on our new Speedo team suit! We will also have complimentary snowcones from Southern Snow!
- Minimum Skills/Meet Requirements - In order to join the team, we expect our swimmers to be able to safely swim a length of the pool (25 yd) unassisted and within at least 1 min and 30 sec. If a swimmer can't do that, then there's simply too much risk from a safety perspective as we aren't staffed for that level of attention. Please note that this is a competitive swim team and not a “learn to swim” program. Swimmers are not expected to be aware of any particular strokes though, and if a swimmer needs to doggie-paddle across at first or even occasionally grab the lane line or wall at the start of the season, that's fine, as long as they are open to being coached in the coming weeks. We do NOT have tryouts as our pool is not heated. See policy page regarding complete skills info.
- Meet Participation - This is a swim team. We ask that everyone registering plans on attending some swim meets.
- Volunteer Requirements - We are requiring each family to earn FOUR (4) volunteer points through out the season in order to run safe, timely, and fun meets. To be successful, some will even need to do more. We are a volunteer-run organization and our parent volunteers are the heart and soul of the entire operation of the BCW Barracudas Swim Team. For more details on our volunteer roles, click here.
- Failure to meet volunteer requirements will result in a $150 fee, removal from season, and not allowed to register next year.
- Credit Card Only - To save effort we will continue the credit card only policy. If you do not have a credit card, please contact us BEFORE starting the registration process. You will not be able to complete the registration online without a credit card unless prior arraignments have been made.
2023 Registration Costs
BCW HOA Resident Registration Fees:

- Volunteer - A Minimum of Four (4) volunteer sessions per family, more appreciated! See Volunteer policy on policies page.
Non-Resident Registration Fees:

Your registration fee buys your swimmer 9 weeks of almost daily swim instruction, participation in up to 8 swim meets, a BCW Barracudas Team T-Shirt, memory mate photo, end of season event, and the necessary pool/insurance fees.
We are implementing a $150 credit card hold at the time of registration in connection to the 4 point per family volunteer requirement. If a family does not meet the volunteer minimum by the end of the season, the penalty fee will be assessed, and the family will have to register after all other registration is complete pending space in the following season and we usually fill up... so... For more about Volunteer Policy Agreements, see details on our Policies page.
Additional items you will be required to purchase: Goggles, swimsuit, kick board, cap (optional), fins and some form of bag for your stuff at the pool, including your mask. Check out the Practice Schedule tab for more information.
You will also be asked to pay your swimmers individual event entry fees (~$10 per event) for the All Star meet, if they qualify and plan on attending.
Payment can only be made online with credit card.
