Volunteer Overview
Requirements
Our parent volunteers are the heart and soul of the entire operation of the BCW Barracudas Swim Team. We could not do what we do without them. Because we are a volunteer-run organization, in addition to the registration fee, each family, regardless of residency or donation status, is required to earn a minimum of four (4) volunteer points during the season. Each job's point value is shown when you sign up — most jobs are worth 1 point, some 0.5.
Sign-ups
You will sign up for two (2) points of volunteer jobs during registration. Sign-up for additional jobs opens the week of the intrasquad meet, and all four points must be completed by the end of the season. Every attempt will be made to assign you according to your choices, but the Board reserves the right to make final decisions. We have a limited number of non-meet jobs available for special circumstances; please contact us for more information.
If the Requirement Isn't Met
At registration, families pre-approve a $150 conditional fee. This is not a charge and not a hold on your card — it is charged only if your family has not completed its four volunteer points by the end of the season. Families who do not meet the requirement may also be denied registration the following season, or permitted to register only after all other families, pending available space.
