Hey Barracudas,

We chomped our way through the regular season and what a season it’s been! We’ve improved personal best times, set records, made new friends, had a lot of Fun Fridays, and have come together as a team! We even capped things off on Saturday with an awesome parents and coaches relay! We can see where the kids get their speed!

Now we are on to CHAMPS this Saturday June 14! 

RSVP today – all Entries are due by Wednesday at noon! This is our season finale and only scored meet of the season. It’s happening at the RRISD indoor pool. All swimmers in the league that have participated in 2 regular meets (not intrasquad) and have a valid time (this doesn’t have to be an all star qualifying time, just a legal time not a DQ) in an event are invited! If the system lets you enter, you’re eligible! Check out the Champs web page for more meet info and signup on the Swim Meets and Events Calendar page! We ask that you review those pages carefully! Take note that the entry deadline - Wednesday at noon - please do not forget! For this meet there are no late entries or changes after the meet is merged. Let us know if you have any questions! Also let us know if you’re interested in signing up for the coaches/parents relay at the end of the meet! We had so much fun doing this last Saturday, we’re doing it again after Champs!  We'll try to organize it a bit better too. 

Volunteer jobs for the Champs meet are also open!

If you are not attending, please be sure to mark your swimmer(s) as “Not Attending” in bcwbarracudas.com or SwimTopia mobile app. We will try to chase down undeclared, so “not attending” will cut down on your unsolicited emails. With all teams in the league competing together, the timeline will be unclear until all entries are in and the heat-sheets are generated. If you are not sure you will be there on time, please select “no early relays” and if you cannot commit to staying the whole meet, please select “no late relays”. Relays earn double points and we want our Barracudas to bring home a team trophy, so if your child is in a relay, please make every effort to have him/her there on time as it will be difficult to find a replacement swimmer last minute.

After Champs, we’ll have our End of Season Party on Wednesday, June 18th.

We’ll have waterslides, food, treats, fun relay races and more! Say farewell to a fun season and enjoy some pool time with your fellow Barracudas families! We’ll have envelopes for each swimmer with their remaining ribbons, medals from Champs meet, participation medal, and memory mate photo. If you’re not able to attend the party, please ask a friend to pick up your swimmer’s envelope for you. Barracudas and their immediate family (parents & siblings) are invited and included in your registration fees. If you need to invite a guest (grandparent, nanny, cousin from out of town, etc.), each additional ticket is $10 and available for sale on our team store.

Volunteers - Volunteer spots are available for both Champs and the party and we need your help to make them happen! Check your point status and scheduled jobs in your my account section of the Barracuda webpage (click on your name at the top right and select my account). We need everyone to contribute so we can finish the season strong!

Lost and found is OVERFLOWING. Please check the bin by the lifeguard tower during practice this week for missing towels, shirts, etc. Will be donated or thrown away after EOS party.
