Morning Swim Practice Begins!
Hey Barracudas!!!!!!
Happy Memorial Day Weekend to you all & what a Fun Friday Swim Meet our Parents put on against the Lakeway Lakers!! Many more All Star Time Standards were achieved at Friday's meet so,,, WAY TO GO SWIMMERS --- CHOMP! CHOMP!! CHOMP!!!
A very special thanks to our younger swimmers who "swam up" to race in an older age-group relay. As I watched the older swimmers embrace, encourage & cheer on the younger swimmers during & after their relay race I, once again, considered this Team & it'sTraditions to be so rich in values... Our Big Kids have Big Hearts & I want to thank them for being so kind & supportive to their Younger Teammates! Way to Go Barracudas!!
For Tomorrow: Tuesday, May 26th
6&unders will start our morning with a fun swim practice, as usual! We plan on announcing awards, handing out ribbons at end of 6&un & beginning of 7-8 practice to have a nice crowd honoring our swimmers achievements. Same plan with awarding 9-10's at end of their swim & at beginning of 11&olders ; )
Victor & I discussed age-group specific practice plans for this upcoming week, we will be working hard & drilling down on race routines to keep our Barracudas Chompin'!! Starts & Turns for All Events (Dives, Dives, Dives -- Open I.M. Turns, Flip-Turns for Free & Back, etc.) Stroke Development Continues for Each Group for Each Stroke: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle!!!! Let's continue to develop smarter swimming for faster races --- this includes finishing races LEGALLY (stay on back for Backstroke Finishes, Touch with 2-Hands at Fly & Breaststroke Races!) Relay practice & more!!!
A couple reminders about gear --- GEAR UP GIRLS!!! I want our girls wearing swim caps at practice & mandatory at meets. You must wear a swim cap during the races, pretty please! Fins will still be used during our practices, keep coming in with y'all's flippers!!! So cute ; ) We look forward to seeing you this week for more fun in the sun!
Best Regards,
Coach Alice ~*
